You don’t have to be ultra hip, off-the-hook, or super cool to be a great youth worker, but you do need to be inside out.  Not backwards…just inside out.

What does it mean to be inside out?

It’s learning to follow Jesus in such a way that He not only lives in you, He impacts teenagers through you. It’s allowing your “doing” to flow from your “being.”

From start to finish, Inside Out Youth Worker Training (IOYW) Experiences are designed to equip youth workers to make disciples of Jesus Christ among teenagers. Yet, unlike many training experiences, this one does not put its primary focus on programs, processes, systems, or structures. Instead, its focuses on you—the youth worker. To us, the starting point for any discussion about making disciples in youth ministry is with youth workers themselves—who they are and what they should be about. Get this right and most things fall into place; but miss this and even the most strategic programs matter very little.
