this site is all about YOU -- the youth worker! PDF Print E-mail

Glorifying God is the heart and soul of effective youth ministries.  So how does a youth worker accomplish this?  By cultivating environments within ministry that equip and empower students to live out the Great Commandments and be part of Jesus’ Great Commission!

kent-2.jpgThe Inside Out Youth Worker website is all about helping youth workers cultivate these kinds of environments!

What this means to you is...

The Inside Out Youth Worker website is designed to help you think deeply about The ArtWork of Making Disciples of Jesus Christ among students.

What do we mean by “the ArtWork of Making Disciples?"

The primary focus of this site is on the “art” of being a youth worker―how to be a youth worker full of Christ-centered confidence and character, as well as one who intentionally lives by clear priorities.  Then, and only then, do we zero in on the “work” of doing youth ministry―connecting with students, programming, teaching, equipping, and sharing the Good News with others.

In other words, when youth workers focus in on these two priorities—the "art" of being and the "work" of doing—they become leaders who live and lead from the inside out!

You see, unlike many youth ministry websites, this one does not focus so much on programs or structures.  Instead, our primary focus is on YOU―the youth worker!  Why?  Because we believe the starting point for any discussion about making disciple in youth ministry starts with youth workers themselves…who they are and what they should be about. Living and leading from the inside out is 80% of the battle.  Get this right and most things fall into place; but miss this and even the most strategic approach matters very little.  Being an Inside Out Youth Worker is that important!

"In a time when too many youth workers are searching for the right "formula" to imitate. The Inside Out Youth Worker celebrates an individual's originality.  It's a great reminder that God is first concerned with who we are which then flows into what we do.  Youth workers spend too much time developing their gifts while neglecting their character.  Programs and giftedness may impress people, but true character changes people.  I love the way The Inside Out Youth Worker keeps the priority on character, yet gives us plenty of practical tips on running a ministry.”
